Braces Price Factors Explained

Several factors play a major role in determining orthodontic costs. The type of braces we use, the complexity of your case, and the length of treatment all affect the initial cost of your orthodontic treatment.

Braces type: Whether you choose metal braces, ceramic, or clear aligners affects price in a variety of ways. In general, metal braces are the most affordable option, while ceramic braces and clear aligners are on the higher end.

Case complexity: The more complex the bite and alignment issues, the longer and more involved the treatment is. This increases the price. More complex cases may also involve additional orthodontic appliances, such as expanders, Herbst appliances, and retainers.

Treatment length: The longer the timeline of your smile correction, the more appointments and adjustments you’ll need, which increases the price.

These factors vary widely depending on your unique smile correction or your child’s treatment needs. Regardless, we break down every aspect of cost before ever charging you for a single visit. That includes accounting for insurance and financing.

Afford Your Care With Insurance and Financing

We know that costs are at the back of most people’s minds when it comes to life’s biggest investments. That’s why we work hard to partner with the most common insurance companies in the area and offer multiple payment plan options.

Insurance

As a practice, we’ve gone out of our way to become participating providers with the most common insurers in each community across our 7 WNY locations.

Being a participating provider means we’ve negotiated reduced fees for patients who are members of that insurance. Coverage pays out directly to the provider. Ultimately, this can significantly reduce your out-of-pocket expenses.

That said, we work with a long list of widely used insurance companies to increase the likelihood that we’re in your network. We even work with Medicaid!

If you were out-of-network, you pay the full amount on your end and submit the care for reimbursement by insurance. But even then, you might still see some coverage. We know healthcare costs can feel complicated, but we’re happy to check your insurance and help you understand final expenses during a free consultation to ease your coverage concerns.

Financing

To help you manage the remaining expenses, we also offer payment plans that break your bill into manageable monthly payments. We provide two avenues for financing: in-office and third-party.

In-office financing: an interest-free payment plan that spreads treatment costs over months. We can set up automatic payments right in our office.

Third-party financing: Our office also works with a third-party provider, CareCredit. This is a healthcare credit card that provides promotional deferred interest and extended monthly plans.

By supporting you through insurance and financing considerations, our practice takes all the guesswork and stress out of affording your orthodontic treatment. No matter the initial price of braces, we will help you understand that cost isn’t actually a barrier.
