- Sometimes, the main concern of a patient considering Invisalign is whether they will sound funny when they speak while the trays are in place.
- A common question we receive from patients is “will invisalign change my voice?”
- To put their minds at ease, I suggest that patients do a test when they first get their Invisalign. I say, “Talk to somebody who can’t see you. Then, ask them if they thought you sounded funny.”
- 9 times out of 10, other people will not even be able to tell. Also, the tongue is very tactilely sensitive. And it is quick to detect the slight added thickness of the tray on the backside of the upper front teeth. As a result, patients sometimes feel as though they are lisping – which they may do for the first day or two. However, this tends to go away very quickly.
