Dr. Dominic A. Colarusso Jr.
Dominic A. Colarusso, Jr., DDS, is a practicing orthodontist and President of Orthodontists Associates of Western New York, PC with four offices located in Hamburg, Olean, Lancaster and Orchard Park, New York.
After receiving the degree of Doctor of Dental Surgery from Howard University in 1982, Dr. Colarusso attended the University at Buffalo School of Dentistry, where he received a Certificate in Orthodontics in 1984. He is licensed to practice orthodontics in New York and Pennsylvania.
Especially noteworthyis the fact that Dr. Colarusso is a member of the American Association of Orthodontists, the American Dental Society, the New York State Dental Association, the Eighth District Dental Society, the Erie County Dental Association, the International Association of Orofacial Myology, as well as the Fonzi Dental Study Club. Moreover, he is Northeastern Society of Orthodontics Board Eligible.
He is the Vice President of Volumetric Craniofacial Imaging Center, LLC and President of Col-Dent Orthodontic Lab, Inc. Dr. Colarusso is also a Board Member of the Olean General Hospital Foundation, and past President of the Cattaraugus County Dental Society.
Furthermore, Dr. Colarusso, along with his partner, Dr. Hietanen, has presented a number of seminars on orthodontic treatment, including: Early Orthodontic Treatment – What? When? Why? – 2008; Early Treatment Orthodontics – Why? – 2007; NewTom Scan Technology in Orthodontic and Dental Treatments – 2004, 2005; Functional Considerations to Orthodontics – 2004; Representatives of Zerobase – Toronto, 2001; Chicago, 2000; San Diego, 1999; and A Zerobase Orthodontic Office – 2000.
In fact, the first private practice in the United States to install and utilize CBCT technology is Orthodontists Associates of WNY. As a result, Dr. Colarusso is well versed in its use in diagnosis for orthodontic treatment. He was also one of the original importers of the NewTom 3g scanner. This is a cone beam computed tomography technology. It is utilized in all areas of dentistry, because it provides reduced radiation exposure and improved diagnostic data for diagnosis.
He also utilizes rhinomanometry and s-EMG as standard protocols in diagnosis. Dr. Colarusso incorporates and implements its diagnostic results into patient treatment.
A member of St. Mary’s of the Angels RC Church, Olean, New York, and Past-Chairman of its annual church festival, Dr. Colarusso is also a member and past President of the Olean Exchange Club.
